Unique setting inside an old bank. We did not get seated in the actual vault though. We stopped in on a Sunday. We waited about 20 minutes to get a table. Walk around & check out the murals while you wait. The food is really good. Well seasoned & served fresh. I really enjoyed their biscuits. I would recommend them & we will be back.
We got online and looked up restaurants in Marion, Illinois. I thought we'd try The Vault. Of course, the name gives it away, it's in an old bank built in 1904, I believe. Two men greeted us at the door. At least one of them was the owner, maybe both, but they were a lot of fun. Started joking around with us right away. We had to wait for a table for about 10 minutes. The place is not big, not a lot of seating, but it was fun. It was so much fun. John, the owner, came by our table a couple of times joking and having fun, and at the end of the meal, he brought us a couple of gold coins. Of course, it was wrapped up chocolate. If you have seen my reviews, you know I don't give five stars out very often. My wife ordered a Vault Burger with cheese and a small bag of chips. I ordered a Patty Melt with swiss cheese and mushrooms and a side order of their homemade pasta salad. Everything was great. The pasta was wonderful. The bag of chips was a little small, and they didn't give me much mustard, just a little packet. You could get more if you asked for it. The only negative thing I could say is that the prices were high. Of course prices are high everywhere but we ordered two, basically, hamburgers with small sides and drinks and it cost us $40 almost 50 with tip. I would normally give a restaurant four stars because of the price but this place was so much fun and the atmosphere was great that I just couldn't give four stars. Five stars is the way to go for me. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, they don't serve french fries. We were there at about 1:00 and they were still serving breakfast. I don't know if breakfast is all day or not, but they were serving it at 1:00. The owner told us why they don't serve french fries: because he doesn't want to serve deep-fried foods, and honestly, insurance companies don't like deep fryers because they catch on fire. Go check this place out, it's great. If this review is helpful, please give me an indication of that.
Hola Señora CAM reporting for duty, this place is really yummy I brought sun and dotter and my dotter got French toast with strawberry and they ate it. My sun had some hot cakes with extra butter and cinnamon. We challenged him to do the cinnamon challenge. YOLO! He did it and we rewarded him by making him chop some lady’s toenails. He was so excited. Him and my boi fried went to a holiday inn and bonded with each other while me and my dotter were purring to eachother and climbing around like monkeys. Did I mention she’s a furry!?!?€?!? YOLO! As soon as we walked in my dotters tail started wagging while I was petting her. There is a chair and she sat and fell asleep in it. My little baby. I went swimming with my sun and he is in a wheelchair he had the fastest backstroke of everyone! His tron bike was reaching max speed . I like chicken. Amazing service. Visiting from Chicago with family and we needed a quality place to eat a meal. We have dietary guidelines(eating halal) so kosher helps us out and we try to avoid cross contamination. We walk in like our routine visits to a distant restaurant from home, ready to ask “vegan and vegetarian options”, or “cross contamination”. Welcomed in with a smile, our waitress Kylie initiates what we were thinking about asking. She confirmed with us after asking, that we can’t eat pork. She tells us which dishes are cooked on the same grill as the pork, and recommends us dishes made on a separate space. Note, we hadn’t asked anything and she explained all of this. This truly is phenomenal. For a restaurant like this to have such a high level of awareness for all types of customers they serve is beautiful. Then we order a salad and we rely on the kosher symbol for pre-packaged foods such as salad dressing. She politely listens to us as we explain that the “K” “U” or “CrC” are all indicators that we can eat that specific item because the symbol ensures that the processed food has no contamination of meat within it via enzymes or any other way. Had a great meal with my family and usually never leave reviews, but this was amazing. Peace

The best breakfast! If you’re ever around Marion,Illinois early enough (S 8am-2pm,M-S 7am-2pm)must have breakfast here. Definitely well worth the 6 minute drive off I57!!
In a historic bank building. Lots of old banking machines, the bank vault is amazing to see. The food was top notch, the service was on point and the value was great. Highly recommend "The Money" meal for breakfast.
Stopped in for an early lunch today. The employees were all very kind and friendly — you could tell they appreciate you being there. I ordered a cheeseburger with a side of pasta salad. Their burger comes on a pretzel bun and let me tell you — it’s worth getting! I can be picky about pasta salad, but theirs has a great flavor. Service was quick and the prices seemed reasonable. Will definitely go there again soon!
Had a great breakfast at The Vault Cafe! The food was delicious and came out hot and fresh. I ordered the scrambled eggs, sausage, and crispy hash browns — everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The service was just as good as the food: friendly, attentive, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Great atmosphere and a perfect spot for breakfast. Will definitely be coming back!
